Alexander T. Bara

My primary area of practice is patent and trademark prosecution and enforcement for our clients. As an attorney with an education in engineering, I enjoy doing work that puts me at the intersection of technology and law, working on IP issues all over the world. It’s one of the things that has drawn me to the work being done at IpHorgan.

I received my B.S. in nuclear engineering before studying intellectual property and patent law. Before joining the IpHorgan team I worked at Argonne National Laboratory doing research on spent nuclear fuel and received law experience at a boutique firm focused on intellectual property.

I provide advice to our clients on maintaining, expanding, and protecting trademark and patent portfolios to help them thrive and grow. Recently, I counseled our client on trademark, non-software copyright, and domain issues in a $1.68 bil sell-side and a $475 mil buy-side mergers & acquisitions deal.

At the end of a long day I enjoy coming home to my wife and two friendly black cats. Between office hours my wife and I enjoy hiking together and we’re working towards our goal to visit all the US National Parks. I also get my engineering fix working on cars and watching Formula 1 racing.
